Seborrheic Keratoses

Brown, misshapen and rough, seborrheic keratoses are non-cancerous growths of the skin. Commonly mistaken for a variety of other skin conditions, seborrheic keratoses are harmless and can be easily removed.

What are Seborrheic Keratoses?

Often appearing later in life, these wart-like bumps can be unsightly and embarrassing. Unlike other skin irregularities, seborrheic keratoses are not caused by sun exposure. They can however, multiply, itch and bleed.  The certified dermatologists at the Soderstrom Skin Institute can help to diagnose and treat the effected areas.

What are the treatment options?

Seborrheic keratoses can be removed with a simple surgical procedure or using liquid nitrogen. If the effected area becomes black, a biopsy is recommended to ensure that the skin is not mistaken for cancer.
