Dr. Carl Soderstrom opened his private practice in Morton, IL in 1973 and has been treating central Illinois patients for more than 35 years. He is board certified in dermatology and internal medicine. He grew up in Streator, IL, and attended the University of Illinois where he received his medical degree. After an internship at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital, Dr. Soderstrom completed residencies at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, in both internal medicine and dermatology.
He is on the active staff at OSF St. Francis Medical Center and Methodist Medical Center and is assistant clinical professor of dermatology at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. Dr. Soderstrom is a member of the Mayo Clinic Alumni Association Board of Directors and serves as chairman of both the O’Leary Society (the society for Mayo Clinic dermatology alumni), and the Mayo Clinic Leadership Council for Alumni Philanthropy.
He is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Soderstrom and his wife, Cris, live in Morton and have five sons.

Dr. Wang joined Soderstrom Skin Institute in July of 2005. She is a board certified pathologist and board certified dermatopathologist. She attended medical school at China Medical University in Shenyang where she completed her residency in pathology at the St. Barnabas Medical center in Livingston, New Jersey. She served as a clinical instructor for general pathology in Providence, Rhode Island, where she was a fellow in gynecology and breast pathology/cytology at the Women & Infants Hospital.
Dr. Wang has worked as a staff pathologist at Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia., and the Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling, West Virginia. In 2005, she completed her fellowship in dermatology at the Tulane Medical School in New Orleans. She and her family live in Peoria.

Dr. Lomax joined Soderstrom Skin Institute in November of 2005 with over 21 years experience in plastic and reconstructive surgery. After his residency he joined and became partner of a six member plastic surgery practice at Texas Medical Center where he was also a clinical instructor in plastic surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. From there he went into private practice in general plastic, aesthetic, hand, facial trauma, reconstructive and microsurgery in El Paso, TX. During this time, he served as chief of plastic surgery at Texas Tech University and as an instructor in plastic surgery at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso. The following 12 years, he was in private practice in Branson, MO.
Dr. Lomax is skilled in both reconstructive and cosmetic surgery including: breast reconstruction, hand surgery, laser surgery, nasal surgery, dermabrasion, brow/forehead lift, collagen/fat injections, liposuction, eyelid surgery, face/neck lift, tummy tuck, ear surgery, reconstructive / trauma surgery, BOTOX® and JUVÉDERM®, and more.
He is on staff at Proctor Hospital, Methodist Medical Center, Pekin Hospital, Illinois Valley Community Hospital, St. Mary's, and he also performs surgery in our ambulatory surgery center. Dr. Lomax and his wife live in Peoria and have three grown children.

Dr. Michael L. Hayes is an American Board of Physician Specialties Certified Dermatologist as well as a board certified family physician. Dr. Hayes joined Soderstrom Skin Institute with 16 years of medical experience including 8 years of emergency room services.
Dr. Hayes earned his bachelor’s degree as well as his doctorate in osteopathic medicine at Des Moines University in Des Moines, Iowa. In 1994, he started his residency in family practice at Des Moines General Hospital. In 2002, he continued his residency and preceptorship in dermatology at the Advanced Dermatology and Laser Center in Moline, Ill.
Dr. Hayes is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians, American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, and the American Osteopathic Association.

Jeffrey K. McKenna is a board certified dermatologist as well as Mohs micrographic surgeon. Dr. McKenna has extensive training in all aspects of procedural dermatology including: Mohs micrographic surgery, cutaneous reconstruction, scar revision, nail surgery, chemical peels, Botox®, Juvederm®, sclerotherapy and laser treatments.
Dr. McKenna earned his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry as well as his doctorate at the University of Vermont. He then completed an internal medicine internship at the University of Vermont. In August 2004, Dr. McKenna received his dermatology board certification from the University of Utah and then spent one year as a clinical instructor in the department of dermatology.
In July 2005, Dr. McKenna returned to the University of Vermont for his sub-specialty training in procedural dermatology and Mohs surgery. The program was one of 30 university based training programs in the country with dual accreditation. Dr. McKenna spent a year working with Leonard Dzubow, M.D., one of the pioneers in dermatologic surgery, and the former head of the dermatologic surgery division at the University of Pennsylvania. He gained experience in all cosmetic dermatology fields including chemical peels, lasers, BOTOX® and JUVÉDERM®. He has a special interest and expertise in treating acne scars.

Dr. Pereira is an American Board of Physician Specialties Certified Dermatologist. He received his medical degree from the University of Kerala, in India, and his postgraduate medical training at the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. Additionally, Dr. Pereira studied at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. Most recently, Dr. Pereira practiced at Soderstrom Skin Institute in Clinton, Iowa and he will be the primary physician at the Davenport, Iowa office. Dr. Pereira lives in Davenport with his wife and two children.
