At Soderstrom Skin Institute, we believe that, no matter your reasons or concerns, you deserve to feel as beautiful as possible.

Unhappy with your profile? Do you feel like you’ll never get your pre-pregnancy body back? Have you always felt uncomfortable with the shape, size or symmetry of your breasts? Breast augmentation, ranked by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons as the most popular cosmetic surgery procedure in 2015, offers patients a way to uniquely tailor their physical appearance.

As women there are many genetic and societal variants which influence body image and a wide range of reasons for considering breast enhancement. Weight gain or weight loss, illness, breastfeeding, irregular shape and size, drooping and cancer are all considered medically valid reasons for breast enhancement. Even women who are simply interested in enhancing their profile are also candidates for this procedure.

What are the different options?

Some patients choose to enhance their profile, while others choose implants because they never developed a significant amount of breast tissue in one or both breasts. Frequently, women desire breast augmentation after pregnancy. It is very important in this situation to determine if a breast lift is necessary or desired instead of or in addition to a breast augmentation. No matter the reason, breast augmentation is an option for women who are physically healthy, and who have realistic expectations. Breast augmentation surgery can enhance a woman’s appearance as well as her self-image and confidence.*

The consultation is a very important step and this is where the patient can successfully describe their goals and desires to the plastic surgery staff at the Soderstrom Skin Institute.

Pre-Surgery Considerations:

  • Breast lift vs. breast implants
  • Implant size
  • Implant material (silicone gel or saline)
  • Implant position (above or below the pectoralis muscle)
  • Implant incision method and site
  • Cost and value

Before your consultation, it’s important to review before and after photos so that you can give a comprehensive description of what look you want to achieve. When your consultation is complete you will receive a wealth of materials to take with you and read over along with recommendations from our highly experienced plastic surgeons.

What are the different options?

Surgery can vary in length depending on the incision and approach you choose, but usually is one to two hours in length.* Most patients spend a short time in our recovery room and are able to go home later that day.* Most patients find they are quite comfortable after surgery and medication for pain is available if and when needed.*

All surgical procedures require an initial consultation. For more information, or to schedule your appointment, please call Soderstrom Skin Institute at 833-439-8612.
