Skin Treatment for Warts

Warts, also known as verrucae, are non cancerous skin growths. Often appearing as small fleshy grainy bumps they are rough to the touch and cosmetically disturbing. Their color can range from flesh-colored, white pin or tan. Rough to the touch, they are harmless, but can spread easily and are caused by the Human Papillomavirus (HPV).

Types of warts:

  • Common warts:  typically occurring on hands they can occur in multiples.
  • Plantar warts: Occurring on the feet these warts are flesh colored or light brown bumps with tiny black dots inside of them. These dots are not “seeds” as they are commonly referred to, but rather clotted blood vessels.

  • Flat warts:  Smaller warts that generally occur on the face or legs these are usually smoother than other types of warts.
